Returns, Cancellations & Refunds
This policy applies to purchases from D.Y Fleet Installations and is in addition to your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
Change-of-mind returns for online orders
If you are a consumer buying goods online, by telephone or another distance-selling method, you will normally have the right to cancel within 14 days after receiving the goods without giving a reason. After telling us you wish to cancel, you normally have a further 14 days to return the goods.
To arrange a cancellation or return, email info@dyfleetinstallations.co.uk with your order number and the item(s) concerned. Please contact us before sending goods back so we can confirm the return arrangements.
Unless the goods are faulty, incorrect or otherwise not supplied in accordance with your legal rights, you are responsible for the direct cost of returning them. We recommend using a suitable tracked and insured service.
You may inspect goods as you reasonably would in a shop. Where permitted by law, we may make a deduction from a refund if the value of returned goods has been reduced by handling beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and function. This may include products that have been installed, wired, cut, drilled, programmed, configured or otherwise altered beyond reasonable inspection.
Where a statutory distance-sale cancellation right applies, we will refund the price paid and the cost of our least-expensive standard delivery option where required by law. Refunds will normally be made using the original payment method within the applicable legal timescale after we receive the returned goods or acceptable evidence that they have been sent back.
Exceptions
Some goods may be exempt from the usual change-of-mind cancellation right, including genuinely personalised or custom-made goods. This does not affect your rights if goods are faulty, not as described or otherwise do not conform to the contract.
Faulty, damaged or incorrect goods
If an item is faulty, damaged on arrival, not as described, not fit for purpose or you receive the wrong item, contact us as soon as possible. Your statutory rights may entitle you to a repair, replacement, price reduction or refund depending on the circumstances and timing.
If goods arrive visibly damaged, please keep the packaging and take photographs where practical, as this can help us resolve the matter with the carrier. Reporting carrier damage promptly does not reduce your statutory rights.
Installation services
Where you purchase an installation service, separate cancellation rules can apply to the service element. If you expressly ask us to begin work during a statutory cancellation period and later cancel, you may be required to pay a proportionate amount for work already carried out where the law permits. If a service has been fully performed following the required request and acknowledgement, the statutory right to cancel that service may end.
If there is a problem with installation work, please contact us so we can assess it and, where appropriate, put the work right. Services supplied to consumers remain subject to statutory rights, including the requirement to perform services with reasonable care and skill.
Return address
Unless we confirm a different return location for a particular order, returns should be arranged with us before being sent to D.Y Fleet Installations, 18 Cloverdale, Cotgrave, Nottingham, NG12 3NJ, United Kingdom.
